Today Kirkstall Children's Centre St. Stephens Church Hall welcomed familes with Play Explore Art brought to the centre by Stephanie Jefferies. The church hall suited the play perfectly with all the different areas of exploration spread across the entire space. Catherine Davies from the Leeds University Child Unit displayed her stall and spoke to parents about their research carried out with parents and children in Language Development.
Brazilian mum Sonia and her son Gael enjoyed the experience. I asked Sonia what she thought when she saw that a recognisable logo like Semana do Bebe.
- I saw a leaflet at the library a month ago as I am always looking for things to do with my son. And suddenly I saw Semana do Bebe - I know about it because it is so popular in Brazil, and wanted to find out more.
- I asked Sonia, what she thought to the week so far as I had seen her at the Robin Balbernie seminar;
- I think there is so much to do in Leeds, I have really enjoyed the week because it has helped bring everything together.
- Also, my son has enabled me to meet new people and enjoy the city that I am living in.
Then it was over to the Trinity shopping centre in town to promote Baby Week and The Best Start Plan. We also had with us the team from the Rainbow Factory in Farsley who were offering free sensory play experiences and the families that stopped by all enjoyed getting to grips with cooked spagetti, dry oatmeal and rice. Some parents had come especially as they'd seen the activities on social media.
