Baby Week Leeds is an adaptation of Semana do Bebe bringing together a wide range of services to support families in our city provided by voluntary sector organisations and statutory services, It will also provide a platform for the recent Best Start plan, a new policy being implemented throughout Leeds. Baby Week 2016 and 2017 has been funded by South and East Clinical Commissioning Group and has a steering group of representatives from Leeds Beckett University, Child Friendly Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, Children Centre Services, University of Leeds, Health Visitors, City of Sanctuary, and Home Start making this the first English speaking country to replicate Semana do Bebe.
The week will actively engage children and families in their own communities reflecting the diverse needs in our city and raising awareness of a baby's important growth and development stages; both brain and physical.
