Baby Week Leeds 2016
Baby Week is an early years initiative aimed at raising awareness in the critical growth stages of a baby's life. This is the first time an English speaking country has replicated the Semana do Bebe model (supported by UNICEF) from Brazil. Baby Week will take place in Leeds between Monday 12th -16th September 2016 and will give lots of information about the range of services to support families in our city, provided by voluntary sector organisations and statutory services.
Baby Week opened with a conference at Leeds Beckett University and concluded with a closing ceremony at Civic Hall on the Friday and a pram push and baby carrying fitness walk around Millennium Square. The week successfully to promoted The Best Start Plan in Leeds, the UNICEF baby friendly initiative and takes forward the child friendly Leeds ambition into next years Baby week.
The Week helped to start actively engaging children and families in their own communities, reflecting the diversity of need in our city and raising awareness of a baby's important growth & development stages both brain and physical.
